Rap superstar 50 Cent gets back in the game with his 4th album Before I Self Destruct. BISD has leaked online almost a month before the November 23rd release date. That date will more than likely be moved up to deal with piracy. Some extra features from the album haven’t leaked including bonus tracks and a DVD.
On Before I Self Destruct 50 goes back to the basics. The hooks and bridges are catchy and the lyrics are solid. The album flows well and is more gritty and street than some of his last couple releases. On the storytelling track “Then Days Went By” he takes a trip back to the hood and spits about the street life over a soulful sample and mellow organ riff. On “So Disrespectful” 50 gets so disrespectful and goes in on a handful of rappers.
Other standout tracks include “Gangsta’s Delight”, “Psycho” featuring a cameo from Eminem and the possible singles “I Got Swag”, “Hold Me Down”, and “Baby By Me” featuring Ne-yo. You won’t find any huge pop smashes (Candy Shops, Ayo Technologies etc.) on Before I Self Destruct but it hardly has any filler tracks and the album is his best effort since Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.

Every song is great… like fif said he needs some competetion with this album.. Im not from new york but I know he went back to the roots of the new york rap game an brung back that new york rap that the game been missin each song is good but my opinion gangsta delight could’ve had some better production but overall this album is 4x platium album to me. This an album that can be mention with them eric b and rakim classic in the future. Could’ve been you should be the next single, the sequel video to baby by me wit kelly rowland.
